The White House Edinburgh

We are 4 from the Canary Islands who spent a different Christmas in Edinburgh and stayed at Margareth’s. She’s very very attentive and gave us a lot of information about the city,the activities at Christmas,places to visit.
The location excellent, very close to the bus stop to the city center and a wonderful house to stay with a beautiful garden and a fully equipped kitchen and the rooms very spacious and comfortable and well decorated with tartan.
Marg is a superb hostess,very friendly and kind.

Japan Here again for the 10th visit. Absolutely delightful.

We stayed here in July. Well organized. Clean, sufficient tea and coffee in room. Handy for bus to city center. Plenty of car parking space, enough for a large trailer as well. As previous guests have said, Margaret is an attentive and knowledgeable host.

Australia A great B&B! Margaret is a very attentive hostess who is able to assist with local information. My next visit will be my fourth. Margaret soon becomes a friend. One of the best B&B’s I’ve ever stayed in.

Hong Kong We just love your home. It is so beautiful and quiet. It is good to have parking off the road. We love your breakfast and comfortable bed. See you again.

We spent all day looking for that gem and finally found one. Margaret was very pleasant and the food and hospitality was fantastic and the Scottish tartan room was beautiful. Only 10-15 minutes by bus to the centre and Edinburgh Castle. No walking for the bus as the bus stop is by the B&B.

Enjoyed a lovely Easter break at the White House whilst visiting family nearby. Margaret is a caring hostess with lots of local and helpful information. The White House is a beautiful home full of fascinating history situated in equally beautiful, large gardens. We will be returning on our next visit.

New Zealand We come from Dunedin which is often referred to as the Edinburgh of the South so it was great to see the actual Edinburgh. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

From the USA, What a wonderful place to stay! The location is excellent: with just a short walk to bus stops you can be in the city center in 10 minutes or at Leith in 20 minutes. Margaret cooks and hosts a delightful breakfast, but also offers a mini-fridge, sink and stove to do ones own cooking if preferred out of season. Quite a delightful arrangement, with a separate entrance shared by two ensuite apartments. The neighborhood is lovely and has a post office, restaurants, laundry, grocery and pharmacies within a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute taxi-ride.

Margaret is very responsive to her guests, is a lovely hostess, and a wonderful person. She will make sure you are provided for and will give you space as needed. A plethora of information is available on tourist sites, maps, bus routes, etc as well as information on Scotland in her house. Truly a homey environment where one can tour or rest as needed.

This is the B&B in Edinburgh to go to.
Margaret is a friendly welcoming hostess who makes superb appetising breakfasts. It has attractive homely rooms with tea/coffee making facilities,and there are very pretty gardens outside.Close to bus services and shops,the White House also has good parking facilities.We have stayed several times now and always feel very ‘at home’ there.

Il b&b è veramente bello e molto caratteristico, si tratta di una tipica villetta in perfetto stile scozzese, situata in un quartiere residenziale molto tranquillo.E’ collegato molto bene con il centro, il bus n.41 – che ferma proprio di fronte al b&b – impiega circa 10/15 minuti per arrivare in pieno centro. L’ospitalità è stata ottima (Margaret è veramente amabile..)la colazione è abbondante,la camera è pulita e confortevole.Siamo stati benissimo e lo consigliamo vivamente a chi ha intenzione di visitare Edimburgo.
The b&b is really nice, it’s a typical Scottish style chalet, situated in a residential district. It’s very well connected with the center, bus n.41 – it stops right in front of the b&b – takes about 10/15 minutes to get to the city center. The hospitality was excellent (Margaret is really sweet ..) breakfast is plentiful, the room is clean and confortable. We had a great time and highly recommend it to those who plan to visit Edinburgh.

Norway & Ireland Takk for kjempefint opphold. Deilig mat(Haggis inkhisive).godt vertskap og sentralt beliggende. Vi kommer nok tilbahe! We had a wonderful stay. margaret was so friendly and made us feel welcome. The breakfasts were superb and he presentation of them lovely. An extrs bonus was the private parking as we had all our belongings in or car! The bedrooms were so spacious and i loved the magazines.

Thank you Margaret, for your hospitality to us. It was a pleasant week in your house, during our visit daughter Ania and her boyfriend Stuart. We are happy that Ania lives among such friendly people in Scotland.

Spain ‘Absolutely delightful’

Germany Sehr freundliche atmosphare, wunderschone, stilvoll eingerichtete zimmer, sehr gutes fruhstuck, gute busanbindung an die stadt (ca.10 minuten),herzliche und hilfsbereite.

We are from Germany and this was our first trip to Scotland. It was an amazing stay and excellent location.
The B&B has an perfect location. There are bus stops right around to corner and to city center its about 15 minutes. For trips into the country the A90 is next door and takes you to the highways M90/M8/M9 in less than 10 minutes.
Marg is an amazing hostess. She always offered us tea, gave us information and tips and helped us organizing day trips. The Breakfast was the perfect start in the day. It is possible to compile a personal breakfast and Marg will take care of it. Breakfast was delicious.
The room was very comfortable and clean. It has air conditioner and everything that an exclusive hotel room can offer.
We would definitly recommend it! We stayed at the White House for one week and we will come back! Next time with the offspring little paul 🙂

This has to be the best B&B for visiting Edinburgh. Extended our stay 2 days for a total of 7. Margret knows her way around the city, area and country to help with any questions. Location is great with easy parking and a quick, simple bus ride to the city center. Breakfasts very good but she couldn’t get me to eat the haggis! Room was large and well appointed. Can’t recommend it more. If we are able to get back, this the only place we’d consider.

Canada We love the tartan room and the great conversation. So easy to get to the centre and old town of edinburgh by bus. With a bus day pass we could travel any where around Edinburgh at no extra cost. Brilliant.

USA.Texas We had a wonderful stay in your tastefully decorated haven! You obviously enjoy having your B&B’s extending your warm hospitality to your guests. ‘Blessings’ Very close to the city center by bus.

France The food is scrumptious and the garden is gorgeous. There is a huge parking area which drew our attention to this B&B.

My sister and I had an absolutely lovely stay at the White House B&B. Marg is a great hostess and a good cook. We enjoyed our breakfasts immensely. Even though we arrived late at night in the pouring rain, the hospitality was still top notch. The house is beautiful and has a wonderful garden surrounding it.

Marg took great care in telling us about nearby attractions, transport alternatives and times, even showing us what bus stops were most convenient. She even offered medicine (TCP) to one of us who fell ill with a sore throat.

Safe to say, we definitely had a great time and will definitely come back on our next trip to Edinburgh. Hopefully sometime soon!
