Taking place throughout each month, Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre offer a variety of social events designed for those living with dementia and their families.
If you fancy some creative music-making, Tea and ‘Jam’ will be music to your ears. A family-friendly event, bring along your own instruments, song suggestions and get ready to sing the morning away. The next session takes place on 29 September to 27 October 2025.
For a fun morning of live music, seated dancing, and friendly faces, their Comfy Ceilidh takes place on 15 October 2025.
Whether sketching the spotlights or painting panto costumes, Set the Scene offers a unique and relaxed way to celebrate their beautiful theatres through art. The next session takes place on 29 October 2025.
If you love music, be sure not to miss Together In Song. In conjunction with Edinburgh’s dementia inclusive Forget Me Notes choir, participants have the chance to celebrate their stories through song. The next session takes place on 07 November 2025.
Relaxing Rhymes on 12 November 2025 is a dementia-friendly event led by Xa Shaw Stewart, who will share both modern and classic poems by great poets. There will be a chance for light conversation, but no pressure to talk. Just come as you are, and enjoy a soothing hour of beautiful poetry being read aloud.
Brew and Blether offers companionship, chat, and of course, tea and biscuits. Join them on 26 November 2025.
Tickets for all events are free but should be booked in advance online. A ticket is required for each attendee, including any carer(s).
